Bismillah.
This is an amazing 2-minute talk on the honour and status given to the Prophet [SAWS] by Allah [SWT]. It is delivered by Shaikh Muhammad Hassan and it’s in Arabic. An approximate translation is also provided:
Translation (provided by sister Amatullah)
Our Rabb – Honorable and Exalted – never calls the Prophet sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam in the whole Qur’an with the calling “yaa“. In other words, He never says “ya Muhammad”, ever. He [SWT] calls all of the Prophets and Messengers by their honorable names with the calling “yaa“:
O Aadam, dwell you and your wife in Paradise! (2:35)
O Nuh, descend with peace from Us! (11:48)
O Ibrahim, you have fulfilled the dream! (37:104-105)
O Musa, Indeed I am Allah! (28:30)
O Esa! I will take you and raise you to Myself. (3:55)
O Zakariyya! We give you glad tidings of a son. (19:7)
O Yahya! Hold fast to this book. (19:12)
But bring me one ayah in the whole Qur’an where Allah says: ya Muhammad, never! Rather He only says:
O Prophet! Verily, We have sent you as witness, and a bearer of glad tidings, and a warner. (33:45)
…or He only says:
O Messenger! Let not those who hurry to fall into disbelief grieve you. (5:41)
…or He only calls him by his traits:
O you enveloped! Arise and warn! (74:1-2)
O you wrapped in garments! Stand (for prayer) at night, except little. (73:1-2)
…and He does not mention his honorable name except by attaching it with his messengership and prophethood:
Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah (48:29)
Muhammad is no more than a Messenger. (3:144)
Muhammad is not the father of any man among you, but he is the Messenger of Allah. (33:40)
Then Allah ta’ala shows us through His verses the measure of our Prophet sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam. He conveys that He purified his intellect:
Your companion has neither gone astray nor erred. (53:2)
…He purified his sight as He says:
The sight turned not aside, nor it transgressed beyond (the) limit. (53:17)
…He purified his honesty as He says:
Nor does he speak of (his own) desire. (53:3)
…He purified his learning as He says:
He has been taught by one mighty in power (Angel Jibreel). (53:5)
…He purified his chest as He says:
Have We not expanded your chest for you? (94:1)
…He purified his sins as He says:
and We removed from you your burden. (94:2)
…He purified his remembrance as He says:
and We raised high for you your repute. (94:4)
…He purified his forbearance as He says:
For the believers (he is) full of kindness, full of mercy. (9:128)
…He purified him wholly and comprehensively as He says, Honorable and Exalted:
And verily, you are on an exalted standard of character. (68:4)
May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and upon all of his family and companions.
